PESHAWAR – Senate Standing Committee for Communication Chairman Senator Daud Khan Achakzai on Tuesday underlined the need for judicious utilisation of funds and bringing improvement in roads system for provision of better travelling facilities to people.
He expressed these views during a briefing given to him by National Highway Authority (NHA) General Manager Fazal Nawab Khattak on progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) western route and other main roads and highways.
The delegation was of the view to bring improvement in lifestyle of people and focus should be made on repair and construction of roads. They also said the CPEC was very important, adding that it is a lifeline project for Pakistan and it would bring exemplary development and promote trade activities in the country.
They directed the NHA to complete repair work on Dera-Quetta route as soon as possible without compromising on quality and play role in timely completion of link roads for benefits of masses. They said that bringing quality improvement in Dera-Zohb road was the prime responsibility of the department and any negligence in this regard would not be accepted.
The Committee was told that Ramk-Pezo section is being improved. Deputy Commissioner Dera Nisar Muhammad Khan and other officials were also present on the occasion.
