Pakistan has firmly rejected the Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ statement regarding comments attributed to Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Foreign Office described India’s response as “immature” and a deliberate distortion of facts, aimed at promoting a false narrative. It dismissed claims of alleged “nuclear blackmail” as misleading and self-serving, reaffirming Pakistan’s opposition to the use or threat of force in any form.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, India’s repeated “sabre-rattling and war-mongering” whenever challenged only invites baseless accusations lacking logic or substance. The spokesperson stressed that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear-armed state, with a robust command and control system operating under complete civilian oversight. On sensitive issues such as nuclear policy, Pakistan has consistently demonstrated discipline and restraint.
The statement also rejected what it termed “spurious insinuations” about Pakistan’s counterterrorism record. The Foreign Office highlighted that Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism are both credible and sustained, earning recognition from the international community. It added that Pakistan’s security forces remain the frontline defenders against terrorism and have made immense sacrifices to protect national and regional stability.
Additionally, the Foreign Office expressed concern over India’s reference to “third countries” in its statement. It described this approach as a futile attempt to involve other states in a bilateral matter, reflecting India’s lack of diplomatic confidence. The spokesperson warned that such tactics only undermine constructive dialogue and regional peace.
Pakistan reiterated its commitment to responsible diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution, urging India to abandon aggressive rhetoric and engage meaningfully on issues of mutual concern. Officials emphasised that facts, not fabricated narratives, should guide discussions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours for the sake of regional stability and security.
